About Marcel Noll

Born in Stuttgart.

Began violin lessons at the Esslingen conservatory. During this period he taught himself to play the guitar.

Member of the band "Defroster" as guitarist and violinist.

High school graduation from the Heinrich Heine Gymnasium en Ostfildern-Nellingen.

Studied violin, music theory and composition in Berlin, Stuttgart and Mannheim. His violin teachers were Prof. Walter Keltsch and Prof. Eugen Prokop. In addition to his studies at the conservatory he took master classes with Saschko Gawriloff, Reinhard Goebel y Hendrik Szering. He studied harmony and composition with Prof. Peter-Michael Braun and later with his uncle, Prof. Hans Stadlmair, composer and conductor of the Munich Chamber Orchestra. He wrote his first compositions for short films from students of the Filmakademie of Berlin. For his conservatory diploma he interpreted the violin concertos of Mozart and Beethoven with his own cadenzas.

Violin teacher at the conservatoire of Stuttgart-Neuhausen and violinist at the Baden-Baden Symphony Orchestra.

After winning the audition for violinist of the Symphony Orchestra of the “Teatro del Liceu” in Barcelona he moved to Spain. For thirteen years as an orchestral musician he worked with the most famous singers, conductors and instrumentalists of the world of classical music, including Placido Domingo, Liciano Pavarotti, Edita Gruberova and Ricardo Muti.

Founded the chamber ensemble “Quarteto Mathis”. For this group he wrote original works and arrangements from different styles of music, including adaptations from opera arias, popular songs, jazz theme, folk music and sound trackso.

Member of the “Filarmonía de Camera Barcelona” and the “Barcelona 216“ ensemble.

Conductor and concertmaster of the chamber orchestra of the Conservatory of Tarragona.

He was elected as union representative of the Opera del Liceu.

Seminar on musical structure and expression at the Barcelona Center for Contemporary Culture. His meetings and conversations with the composer Helmut Lachenmann had a crucial influence on his artistic development.

Founded the Classic Music Barcelona S.L. music contracting agency.

Left the Liceu Symphony Orchestra to dedicate himself exclusively to composition.

Composition and production of soundtracks for commercials and films.
